California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA) acknowledges the importance of climate change and the use of Climate Adaptation as the framework in which community-based organizations can prepare communities with limited resources to respond to climate change. CCEDA used California's Fourth Climate Change Assessment as a framework for the nine Regional Climate Adaptation Assessments. Findings from California’s Fourth Climate Assessment were translated into Community Economic Development language. Giving community-based organizations the opportunity to evaluate climate risks in their region, properly strategies ways to mitigate climate impact and create more climate resilient communities.
